Overview

Lunar Cup is a race series that consists of 4 days of racing for Athletes under 12 years of age as of December 31st. The Lunar Cup is designed for newer racers that are looking to test their skills against other athletes in the Twin Cities Area, but do not want to commit to a full non-scored racing schedule. It is open to any athlete, including those receiving instruction outside of a full USSA club program, e.g., traveling ski schools: Blizzard, Ski Jammers, Otto Hallus, or D-Teams, or Independents participating in NASTAR racing and the like. The Lunar Cup does include a limited use USSA competitors license that is handled through the Lunar Cup registration.

The series races are designated on the Region One calendar with the Lunar Cup tag on skifast.com. The races will occur on Sunday's with the intention of achieving a balance of GS and SL disciplines. Each race will count toward a series finale total with recognition at the end of the season. These athletes are not eligible for Planet Cup points and are not eligible to qualify for any USSA races outside of the Lunar Cup Series.

Lunar Cup participants are automatically registered for the Paul Augustine Jr. Champs race in February.

Cost

$100 - Which includes a USSA competition membership (with associated insurance) and entry to all four races in the series including the Paul Augustine Jr. Champs. Does not include lift tickets at the participating ski areas.

Disclaimer

We welcome all racers. However, there may be other race organizations that limit their enrollees from holding memberships with other organizations, or hold competitor licenses with USSA. If you are a D-team competitor, please check with your organizers to see whether you will also be allowed to compete in D-team if you race in Lunar Cup as well.
