Overview

The FIS program is for athletes 16 years old and older as of January 1st. FIS racing offers a competitive environment for USSS Club athletes and independents to race against other FIS athletes across the USA and Canada, participate in a season long competition for the Carruther's Cup, and qualify for age appropriate upper level racing in Nor Ams, US National Championships, Rocky / Central FIS Championships and International FIS Races.

Most Central Division FIS competitions, Northern Michigan University Mid Am Series races (MidAm Series), are held on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during the ski season at ski areas across the Midwest. Some 4 day race formats may include a Thursday or a Monday during the school year, but every attempt is made to minimize these.

Costs

FIS racing requires a USSA Competition membership, a FIS membership, Registration in Central Division Region 1, and registration for each of the individual races. These costs can vary based on the location of the races. This information can be looked up on your MYUSSA in the athlete race registration section.
